Exterior work · Decking
Decking in Brighton & Hove.
Timber and composite decks built on a proper frame — raised decks, steps, balustrades and wrapped fascias — designed to stand up to the Sussex coast.
About this service
Decking, done properly.
A deck lives or dies by its frame. Boards get all the attention, but sunken, bouncy or rotten decks almost always come back to what's underneath — joists too far apart, timber in contact with the ground, poor drainage. Near the coast, that happens faster.
We build decks the way a carpenter would: a properly spaced, treated frame on solid footings, then timber or composite boards, steps, balustrades and fascias finished neatly. We also repair and rebuild existing decks, replacing rotten frames and boards.
Pair it with a slatted screen, planters or a garden structure and we'll build the lot.
Composite decking
Low-maintenance composite boards with hidden fixings and wrapped fascias.
Timber decking
Softwood and hardwood decks built on a treated frame.
Raised decks & steps
Decks stepping down from doors, with stairs and balustrade.
Deck repairs & rebuilds
Rotten frames and sunken boards replaced and rebuilt properly.

Questions
Decking: common questions.
How much does decking cost in Brighton?
It depends on the size, timber vs composite, how high the deck sits and whether there are steps or balustrades. We'll give you a fixed, written quote after seeing the space.
Composite or timber?
Composite costs more up front but needs far less maintenance. Timber is cheaper and natural-looking but needs treating. We'll talk you through both.
Can you repair my existing deck?
Yes. Most failing decks come down to the frame, so we'll check what's underneath and replace what's needed.
