Hanging a door well is one of those jobs that looks simple until it isn't. Older Brighton & Hove properties have frames that have moved, floors that slope and openings that are anything but standard size. A door that's been hung badly rubs, swings open on its own, won't latch or lets a draught straight through.
Door work is a big part of our day-to-day carpentry. We fit new internal doors throughout a property, replace front and back doors, repair and re-set frames and linings, and fix the doors that have been annoying you for years. Every door is trimmed, hung on properly set hinges and finished with handles, latches, locks and architrave.
Doing a whole house? We can replace every internal door, the architrave and the skirting in one go, and bring in a decorator to finish it.

How much does it cost to fit an internal door?
It depends on whether you're supplying the door, whether the frame needs work, and the ironmongery. A straight swap into a good frame is quicker than an opening that needs re-setting. We'll give you a fixed, written price before we start.
Can you fix a door that sticks or won't close?
Usually, yes. Most sticking doors come down to loose or worn hinges, a frame that's moved or swelling. We'll find the cause and fix that rather than just planing a bit off.
Can you hang doors I've already bought?
Yes. Buy the doors you like and we'll trim, hang and finish them.
Do you replace front doors?
Yes. We fit timber and composite front and back doors, hung, sealed and finished with the right locks.
Can you do all the doors, skirting and architrave in a house at once?
Yes, and it's often the most cost-effective way to do it. We can also bring in a decorator to finish the job.
